We will begin our study of the book of John this week. I will be doing an overview of John this Wednesday and Sunday. If you would like to get started, I am asking everyone to read the entire book over the next week. We will begin with Chapter 1 next Wednesday and Sunday.

ReplyDeleteI am in agreement with you, Curtis, and those who commented, that we as Christians are guilty of running away from our world instead of engaging it. Since you are studying John, what if Jesus, when He saw the Samaritan woman approaching the well, had run away rather than engage her in a conversation which led to her salvation? I know this is not exactly the same thing, but my point is we need to be "in the world but not of it." Our lives must be different, and screaming and yelling every time a public official does something we don't like is not the way. Teach your children discernment, of the truth, of honesty and integrity in people, of being Jesus in their world. Then and only then will we make a difference in our world.
